On Tanzania Safari at Exclusive Mobile Camp
The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest in the world with the climate, vegetation and fauna having changed little in the past million years and is most famous for the Great Migration where over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras travel through various habitats and dangers to fulfill this ancient pattern of life.
On this Tanzania safari the mobile camps move to various locations in the Serengeti National Park according to the movement of the migration, allowing guests to be close to this phenomenal wildlife spectacle. Guests will have the perfect balance between comfort, privacy and quiet isolation on this safari.
These months are approximate as the wildlife movements can vary from year to year. Camp will always be set up within reach of the migration.
December to April – the mobile camp is based on the southern Serengeti plains, with access to the main herds as they calve through January to March.
May to early July – the mobile camp moves to the central Serengeti or Western Corridor as the migration heads west and north. Migratory patterns can be unpredictable at this time.
Mid July to November – the mobile camp moves to the northern Serengeti, close to the Mara River. There is great game viewing and the water crossings at the Mara River are spectacular.
